1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Uteo recruitment platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Account Registration

You must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Job seekers and employers each have distinct roles and obligations under these terms.

3. Job Postings & Employer Verification

Employers must post genuine, lawful job opportunities with accurate role descriptions, locations and compensation bands. Uteo may verify employer identity and reserves the right to remove postings that are misleading, discriminatory or in breach of Kenyan labour law. Uteo does not guarantee that any specific job will be filled or that any candidate will be hired.

4. Job Applications & Matching

Uteo's AI matching engine ranks jobs against your profile and surfaces candidates to employers based on skill fit. Match scores are guidance, not guarantees — final hiring decisions rest with the employer. Job seekers are responsible for the accuracy of the information in their profile and CV.

5. Fees & Subscriptions

Uteo is free for job seekers — no charges to browse, apply or message employers. Employers pay subscription fees or one-off posting fees as set out on the Pricing page. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Refunds are at Uteo's discretion and processed on a case-by-case basis.

6. Code of Conduct

All users must conduct themselves professionally. Harassment, discrimination, misrepresentation, fraud or any illegal activity will result in immediate account suspension. Employers may not require fees, deposits or unpaid work from candidates as a condition of employment.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Uteo platform — including logos, text and design — is the property of Uteo unless otherwise stated. Users retain ownership of content they upload (CVs, profile photos, company branding) and grant Uteo a licence to display it as needed to operate the platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

Uteo acts as a recruitment marketplace connecting job seekers and employers. We are not party to any employment contract that may result from a successful match, and we are not liable for the actions, performance or compensation arrangements of either party. Our liability is limited to fees paid to the platform.

9. Data Protection

We comply with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect, why and your rights.

10. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
